CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and is concerned with the relationship between how someone thinks, feels and behaves. The video below also explains some of the fundamentals of CBT, although this is not specifically related to emetophobia.

I will work with you using CBT to make changes with regards to

  • Your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes towards being sick. Both in yourself and others around you.
  • Your actions, behaviour or routine relating to how this fear governs day to day life.
  • Your emotions and physical sensations experienced when faced with a trigger of emetophobia.

Often, making a change in either your thoughts, behaviour or emotions will make a difference in the remaining two. We will work together as a team to achieve these changes. CBT isn't a quick fix, and often takes lots of hard work and dedication to achieve a meaningful change.
